Why Free?

Why not? I’m posting tools I use with my companies and with my clients. Most of it is stuff I wish someone had shared with me when I was starting out. But I’m not getting all altruistic and “information wants to be free” with you. (Well, maybe a little.)

The truth is, this stuff is hard to sell by itself. Say I charged $4.95 or $9.95 per tool. It’s not that I’d have to pay for the infrastructure to take payment and deliver electronic files (costs only about $700 per year for those who are interested). But more importantly I’d have to invest time and effort convincing you that each new tool was worth it and all I’d get is a measly 5 bucks.

Instead, I’ll put that effort into helping my clients where I can make a larger inpact in their bottom line. Folks who are happy to pay someone else to do their payroll and their taxes even though the information on how to do it is readily (and cheaply) available. Because they know when it’s worth it to utilize an expert to free them up to do the stuff that only they can do best.
